Enjoy the colorful late summer at De Tulperij
From August 1 through October 11, our garden will be in full bloom with dahlias and sunflowers. Dahlias are beautiful flowers that, unlike tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths, grow from tubers rather than bulbs.
De Tulperij is a family-run business where hospitality comes first. We’d love to welcome you and tell you more about what we do. Inside the greenhouse or out on the terrace, you can enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, cake, or the special dahlia-flavored ice cream pastry from our local ice cream shop.

Dahlia and Sunflower Picking Garden
In the pick-your-own garden, you can put together your own bouquet. Ask our staff for a bucket and a pair of scissors, and cut the dahlias you like best.
Feel free to add a few sunflowers for a playful touch. There’s no admission fee for the Tulperij. You’ll pay for your dahlias in the greenhouse (you pay per flower), where we’ll add water so your flowers stay fresh and sturdy on the way home.
A fun experience for the whole family. Let the kids help out, or come with friends for a fun outing.

Show garden featuring over 600 varieties of dahlias
Together with the CNB and local growers, we have created an impressive show garden. More than 600 varieties of dahlias bloom here from August through October.
You’ll see colors and shapes you may never have seen before. Take a leisurely stroll, snap some photos, and let yourself be amazed by the diversity of this flower.
We also have white, dark brown, and yellow sunflowers and a variety of unique annual flowers whose seeds we sell.

Picking sunflowers in late summer
In late summer, the Tulperij takes on a golden glow. At that time, our pick-your-own garden is filled not only with dahlias but also with a wide variety of sunflowers.
Not just the familiar yellow sunflower, but also white sunflowers, brown varieties, and soft teddy sunflowers with their full, cuddly centers.
Every flower has its own character. Together, they form a field that invites you to take a leisurely look around, pick some flowers, and take a little bit of sunshine home with you.
For centuries, sunflowers have symbolized light, vitality, and loyalty because they turn their heads toward the sun. Especially in the fall, when the days are slowly getting shorter, they bring back that sunny summer feeling one last time.
There is no admission fee at the Tulperij. You pay for the flowers you’ve picked in the greenhouse.

Bulbs for sale
Would you like to enjoy a colorful garden at home? In our show garden, you can see the most beautiful varieties of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and other spring-blooming flowers.
You can easily order the varieties you like using the computer in the greenhouse. Your order will be delivered in the fall, just in time for planting. Dahlia tubers are available in the spring.
In late summer—during dahlia season—you can browse and purchase all our spring bulbs in person at our store.
Book a group tour
Discover the story behind the dahlia
During a tour, Daan or Anja will take you through the fields. You’ll learn all about how dahlias grow and bloom, as well as the difference between bulbs and tubers. You’ll also see how new varieties are developed.
There will be time for questions and, of course, plenty of opportunities to take photos. The tour lasts about an hour and is available in Dutch or English. Several bus companies have also discovered our location.

Late summer is dahlia and sunflower season
Plan your visit
The dahlia season runs from July 31 through October 10, 2026. During this season, we are open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Parking is free on our property. Cyclists can find us between junctions 55 and 58. Dogs are also welcome, provided they are kept on a leash.
The dahlia symbolizes color, creativity, and abundance. A day at De Tulperij in late summer is a feast for the senses.
Head out, explore the pick-your-own garden, find inspiration in the show garden, and relax with a cup of coffee and homemade pastries.
